Kathleen Arbuckle Fine Art

Kathleen Arbuckle

Portrait Artist

Kathleen (Bartz) grew up in Summit, New Jersey, the third of seven children. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Indiana University, Bloomington, Kathleen settled in the Chicago area where she and her husband now reside.

Kathleen left her career in banking twenty three years ago to stay at home with a growing young family. She found time for art classes, taking particular interest in portraiture. The most compelling part of her art is capturing the essence of her subject. She finds understanding the character, nature and personality of the subject fundamental to rendering timeless, lifelike portraits. Her work remains in private collections on the east and west coasts as well as throughout the Chicago area. A small sampling is available for view on this site.

Kathleen volunteers as a Docent at the Art Institute of Chicago where she is inspired as much by the Old Masters as by the expressions of children touring the museum.
